1. Re: Can plugins be installed to drives other than C: for AE and/or PPRO?
Harm Millaard Jan 16, 2011 9:40 PM (in response to tfi productions 44)Make it easy on yourself and install these plug-ins in their default locations on your C: drive. They ask where AE and PR are located and they are program extensions, so correctly they belong on your programs drive.

tfi productions 44 Jan 16, 2011 10:11 PM (in response to Harm Millaard)hello Harm
i was hoping you'd be the one to answer, thanks
to clarify:
install the plugins to c: (the dll's)
is it okay to place the large sample files
(mostly from videocopilot series i think)
onto a separate drive?
i understand to keep the programming part of these plugins
near the os (they install into the mediacore folder and plugin folder and preset folder)
an aside question
with an i7 930 @2.8Ghz (stock)
my muskin 1600Mhz memory is only being read at 1066
this seems to be running slow, any advice please?
i look forward to doing the benchmark test next week
if i get this thing configured right
if you guys plan on doing a stock benchmark list
separate from the oc club, i'd like to throw my hat into the ring
it's kinda like nascar and the indy500
have a pleasant night

That is perfectly OK and it keeps your C: drive clean.

That is correct. To run your memory at higher speed, you need to adjust the memory multiplier in the BIOS.

tfi productions 44 Jan 17, 2011 5:01 AM (in response to Harm Millaard)hello Harm,
thanks for the answers
gonna spend the day moving files around
clean is good
as far as the memory, i'll figure that one out next
is overclocking memory that easy ?
actually if i could ask another question:
with a stock i7 930 at 2.8Ghz
and 16gb DDR3 1600Mhz 9-9-9-24 memory
what are stable results to expect for an oc'ed cpu
and memory running at 1600?
would oc'ing the cpu be worth the extra 'wear and tear'?
i'm editing avchd .mts files
(most threads state that avchd is cpu intensive)
so far i'm very happy with cs5
again, i more trust answers from within this forum
than googling stuff and checking reviews, what not
thanks again and good morning,
j
