Hello,  we are using RoboHelp 5.0 with our custom software application and have Map IDs to link some of the Help pages to specific screens.

I downloaded a trial version of RoboHelp 8.0, opened the 5.0 Project in 8.0,and generated the compiled files with 8.0.   If we overwrite our existing (5.0) files on with the 8.0 files, will the map IDs function correctly?  Are there any other considerations?  (Our development team is concerned, before they will allow us to upgrade formally to 8.0)

Thank you!

You should be fine. The MapIds functionality hasn't changed in ages so will be the same as in RHX5. Just keep a copy of the old output just in case, but there really shouldn't be a need to use it.
