Dead .pdf link in WebHelp

I've added a .pdf to my baggage files and simply want to create a link in a topic that will open the .pdf.

I've successfully added the link (shift + drag...no problem), but when I open the WebHelp, the link is dead.  I click on it, nothing happens.

I can actually right click and select SAVE TARGET and I can save the .pdf, so I know that the link is "seeing" the file.

Why is the .pdf not opening up in the window?  I know I've done this before.  Please help before I go mmmmaaaaaaaaad.

Thanks.

Hi there

My guess is that you are testing the WebHelp from your local hard drive and you are testing using Microsoft Internet Explorer. When you generated, you used the option for adding Mark of the Web.

If you want to test the link locally, disable MOTW and deal with the IE Yellow Information Bar that appears when you run WebHelp. Or configure IE so you don't get the YIB.

Cheers... Rick
