Version RoboHelp 8.0.1.204

Hi,

Recently started to work on an old RoboHelp project and so I’m new to this software.

The problem is with images (I’m using .jpg .gif etc.) The path is correct to the image which was done from the image editor. But, the images won’t be copied from my sourcefolder “graphic” to the generated folder graphic.

The images can’t be displayed from either the image editor or from the folder that holds these within RoboHelp, but all the images are there. One time I got it to work though, the showed up in the image editor, but after saving and reopen RH8 the problem was back. I’ve also tried to move the images to the root folder but that won’t help. Whats need to be added is, that some pictures do show and do copy to the generated folder..

One solution is to copy the images manually but that seems to be a short solution and soon there will be several more projects that will be generate out of this project.

Has anyone an idea of what the problem might be and how I can solve it?

Kind Regards Chris

Welcome to our community

Can you provide us with a more detailed explanation?

For example:

I'm in RoboHelp and I need an image inside a topic, so here are my steps:

1. Click the icon to insert an image

2. Navigate to the image.

3. Choose the image.

Sorry to be so basic, but we need to identify exactly where things are breaking. So if we know exactly how you are going about working with things it will help to provide you with a better suggestion.

Cheers... Rick

Im on a topic. On this topic there is a picture. I dubbel click on the picture.

1. The image editor pops open.

2. I browse to the picture in the folder graphic (in my topfolder)

3. Then save, close project.

4. All good after generating.

5. Next time when I open project the 1_00.jpg has disappered.

6. the picture displays in the image editor to the right. but gone from the list.

Hello again

I think the key point may be this. You said:

I'm guessing "the list" is referring to the list you see on the left side as shown below?

tmp1.PNG

So here is what I'm thinking is happening to you. Your topic is actually inside a folder. I note that the image name area lists ../graphics which means up one folder level and drop into the graphics folder.

When you work with content such as images in RoboHelp HTML, the Image dialog presents what it knows about in the current folder only. You have to specifically click the drop-down and browse to different folders (or choose the All Folders view) if you wish to see what is in the other folders.

Give that a look and see if I've understood correctly.

Cheers... Rick

Hi Leon

Are you saying this will fix the image issue? Or is this just some general good advice? (Which I agree with )

No, just attempting to set a baseline before any other fixes are suggested.

Good luck,

Hi again,

I have tried what you suggested.

But i can't get all of my pictures to show in the dropdownlist and maybe thats is the problem.

It's like the RH8 can't show 80% of all the pictures in the project.I'm totally lost here..

Kind regards chris

Hi Chris

Could you perhaps try using Jing ( http://www.techsmith.com/Jing/?gclid=CLC2lqrHy6YCFRxqgwodrhHnHg ) to record what you are seeing and post it here for us to review?

Hi Captiv8r,

I'm not allowed to install that software it seems.

But may be there is another way I can do this?

What is it that you would like to see about the project?  How do you work with images if you let's say you have 30-40 pictures that you would like to choose from in your project?

Kind Regards Chris

Hi,

I found a workaround to the problem.

I simple builded a new blank project and imported all my different contents.

After that, pictures and there paths didn't get deleted. Hopefully it will stay this way

Thanx for helping

Kind Regards Chris
