Some window names and element names are missing from the text captions when I record a software simulation for our proprietary software. What do I tell teh developers to include so that Captivate 5 can make accurate captions? For example, Captivate is creating text captions that say:
"The page appears" instead of "The Login page appears"
"Select the tex box" instead of "Select the Name text box"
I am brand new to Captivate.
Thanks,
Lisa A

As I'm not a developer it's difficult to say exactly what would be needed. But maybe it will help to know that there are some text files that Captivate uses when it creates these captions. Perhaps if you share one of these files with your developer, s/he might be able to determine what needs to be changed.
I'll attach one of these files here so that you won't have to go hunting.
Cheers... Rick

Hi,
Can you please let us know which application are you recording? CP5 does not completely support capture on Flash, Flex and Java Script pages. You could be facing this issue in case you are trying to record on any of these page types.
Thanks,
Sushma

I am having the same issue: recording is not includng the label name of the link, button, etc.
I have this problem on an HTML page but also when trying to record a Windows Explore screen
I have seen another simialr problem logged without resolution.
Is there some secret to getting Captivate 5.5 to capture the label?
It's like the %s variable in the .rdl file is not getting primed.
