    Dynamic text linked to a thumbnail

    auto_ghost Level 1

      Hopefully somebody can help me...

      I have a simple video player with 4 thumbs and a flvplayer component. When you click on the thumbs a corresponding video play.

      What I would like to happen is to have a title above and a description below when the thumbnails are clicked.

      Here's the as I have for the thumbs to link to the vids:

      thb1_btn.onRelease = function(){
           FLVplayer.contentPath ="video/backstage/tandg.flv";
      thb2_btn.onRelease = function(){
           FLVplayer.contentPath ="video/backstage/coop.flv";
      thb3_btn.onRelease = function(){
           FLVplayer.contentPath ="video/backstage/stopmotion.flv";
      thb4_btn.onRelease = function(){
           FLVplayer.contentPath ="video/backstage/hermes.flv";

      Could somebody tell me if adding a description and title is easily achievable?

      Maybe from an xml file?

      I've tried finding a tutorial but to no avail.

      Any help would be much appreciated!

          I can't tell if there is only one set of textfields for all thumbnails or one set for each thumnbail, but in any case, you would assign instance names to the textfields (I use "above" and "below" in the example) and assign the text to them in your button code....

          thb1_btn.onRelease = function(){
               FLVplayer.contentPath ="video/backstage/tandg.flv";

              above.text = "title goes here";

              below.text = "description goes here";

          If you want to have an xml file for this data then you should be able to find any number of tutorials if you search Google using "AS2 XML tutorial"
