I have added a See Also control in one of my Robohelp topic. Added the keyword as well. When I generate this project as a WebHelp, this control works perfectly. But, when I generate as a Microsoft HTML Help and then click See Also button, I am getting the following message - " Selection is not associated with any topics. Please try another selection." Why is this working in one layout but not in the other? I need this control in my CHM file.

Welcome to our community
I'll repeat what I said when you asked the same thing yesterday on the HATT list.
Hi there
What version of RoboHelp are you using?
There are a few different reasons this might happen. For example, you could be using a Build Expression that has removed the topic from the
CHM build but leaves it intact for the WebHelp.

Hi,
I am using RoboHelp 6. I am also a novice in Robohelp with only a basic understanding of programming and if the Build Expression has been removed then I assure you I have no idea how that happened. 🙂 Could you please give me some possible solutions that I can try out? Thanks a million!
I was desperately searching for an answer so have posted this in every possible forum. Where would you prefer I post my replies?

Hello again
The topic you are attempting to open via the See Also link. Does it exist in the CHM? Are you able to open it using other means? If not, then it totally explains why the control is failing and you will need to explore why it's not surviving into the build.
If you ARE able to find the topic, then it means something is messed up with the linkage in some way and we need to troubleshoot from that angle.
Cheers... Rick

Hi,
I created a drop-down hotspot and text with links to same topics that I had used as keywords for the See Also control. Those links are working perfectly in the Microsoft HTML help layout but the See Also control that I retained in the same topic is still not working and displaying the error message " Selection is not associated with any topics. Please try another selection." This means that the topics are there in the CHM, isn't it? What else should I check?
Thanks and regards,

Hi,
Is the See Also control and the see also keyword within it, are associated to the same topic?

Hi Shaifali,
I created the See Also control and the See Also Keyword in the same topic. The See Also keyword had links to different topics that should appear in the See Also control. The thing that is baffling me is why it is working in WebHelp Layout but not in HTML Help Layout. Any idea?
Thanks and regards,

Hi everybody,
First of all I would like to thank everybody who tried to help me with finding a solution for this problem.
Next, the good news is that I was able to find the solution for this problem, thanks to Google (I love google and I respect people who share their knowledge through the Web).
The problem of the See Also button not working in Microsoft HTML Help layout was because of a missing file - itcc.dll. This missing file can also block the Search functionality in the MS HTML Help layout (it did, in my case and so lead my search to this bonus solution). All you have to do is save this file in the system folder (my case - c:\windows\system) and then register it using "regsvr32 c:\windows\system\itcc.dll. After the "successfully registered" message comes, recompile the Help. The See Also and the Search functionality will work properly (it did, in my case :-))
For more details, please see http://frogleg.mvps.org/helptechnologies/htmlhelp/hhtips.html#hhc6003. Btw, this path was suggested in Adobe site also for solving the Search-tab-not-working question. 🙂
Plus, if you want a popup to appear on clicking See Also button instead of a dialog box, then in your project related .hhp file, under the [OPTIONS] section add/modify - "Language=0X409 English (United States). This will work; atleast it did in my case. 😉 Excuse me for repeating this but really happy and relieved on getting a solution to not one but two of my problems after much searching.
Hope this will be helpful for somebody else.
Thanks so much!

SreeG
