    can I use photoshop path effects like illustrator?

    TF22Raptor2 Community Member

      Hi all, just wondering is there anyway I can apply a stroke to a path and then later alter the paths bezer curves and have the path retain its stroke or effect (say 1 pixel), if I wasnt happy with how it originally sat instead of redrawing the path again each time?

      Can I do this inside of photoshop without having to go into illustrator?

      Any help would be great

          Not really. That is why they are different programs, after all. if it's jsut a simple solid stroke, you could however create a shape layer and use the stroke layer stile combined with the layer blending options - hide the layer, render only the stroke.

            * Apply stroke to path:    Yes !  At bottom of paths panel click on Stroke Path with Brush icon (pre set your brush)

            * Alter the path with Bezier control handles:    Yes!  Use the path & direction tools  (white arrow tool to adjust control points)

            *  Apply effects:      Yes

            *  Do in Photoshop instead of Illustrator: Yes !  Dealing with the paths and getting the results on layers takes a little bit of doing, but quite workable.  MUCH better   done in Illustrator, however.
