Tips for reducing moire when scanning magazines?

    onefiftymph Community Member

In the past, I've just accepted the annoying pattern when scanning magazine pages that I've designed for my portfolio, using my consumer grade scanner. I've tried different scanner exposure settings (highlights, midtones, shadows, gamma), but usually without much benefit, so I'm looking more at post-scan fixes. I have some one-of-kind pages that I want to archive before they discolor (Quark pdf originals no longer available) and I'm wondering if you have any secret tips you can pass on?

ps: I'm fully aware of copyright. These are pages I've designed for use in my portfolio.
