Invalid Serial Number?! Help!

I am trying to register my ereader and it is saying invalid serial number but I've typed it in several times?

[Frustrated in AZ]

I've had problems like this for 30 years or so. It's usually my fault

because of one of the following:

I've typed zero for an 'O' or vice versa

I've typed in lower case or upper case when I should have done the opposite

I've typed the lower case letter 'L' when I should have typed a '1' or vice

versa

I've typed spaces or dashes when they were not supposed to be entered - even

though they appeared in the number I was typing
