1. Re: Colorista2 colour wheels not scrubbing
Bill Engeler Aug 15, 2010 4:41 AM (in response to Tayedrummer)Is it worse than in the previous version? In Colorista 1 the dot in the color wheels moves sluggishly(big mouse move=little dot move), but in a predictable way. Using Shift-click you can place it exactly. The outer rings are more troublesome, but responsive in a similarly sluggish way, with occasional annoying big jumps.
Is version 2 worse, or just the same? Perhaps you haven't tried version 1, but maybe someone else could share their experiences.

3. Colorista2 not ready for prime time? Was: Colorista2 colour wheels not scrubbing
Tayedrummer Aug 15, 2010 7:10 AM (in response to Ann Bens)Hmmmm...even more mysteries abound.
First of all I'm one of the only people walking the earth that doesn't know or use After Effects so I opened it for the first time to see how Colorista2 works in that application. I opened a clip and applied Colorista2, the wheels and rings worked (although sluggishly) but the double-click reset (as shown on the MB tutorial video) didn't. Power window is shown and the keyer windows aren't cut off so it's mostly working as advertised.
Now this is the new mystery...I was using After Effects in the default layout. Like most users I have dual monitors on my system so I put my bins/tools/effect controls in the right monitor to give lots of room on the left for the image I'm working on. When I dragged the effect control panel in After Effects to the monitor on the right THE WHEELS/RINGS STOPPED WORKING! Sure enough when I went back to Premiere and moved the effect control panel back to the primary monitor on the left the wheels/rings worked. The power window selector still doesn't work in Premiere but you can sort of work around it by changing the 'view mode' in secondary to 'show mask' or 'show red overlay' and using the numerical values to create the shape but I doubt you could get more than three windows made that way before stepping in front of a bus to end the pain.
Pretty disappointing.

6. Re: Colorista2 not ready for prime time? Was: Colorista2 colour wheels not scrubbing
Tayedrummer Aug 17, 2010 5:51 AM (in response to Ann Bens)Yeeesh, I tried to soldier through with C2 in Premiere but then the secondary keyer started to act up. Intermittently when opening the keyer on a clip it would show the image from another, seemingly random clip even though the proper clip was selected and the pointer on the timeline was on the intended clip.
I'll give MB tech support a try but in the mean time I may try this through After Effects. Keeping in mind I've never used After Effects could anyone explain the workflow of how to send a PremiereCS5 project to After Effects and then bring it back to Premiere once it's graded?
Cheers!

7. Re: Colorista2 colour wheels not scrubbing
Ripbud Feb 28, 2011 9:57 AM (in response to Tayedrummer)This might be related to your issue.
I reported this bug 2 days after Colorista 2 was released - it has been confirmed - but not yet fixed.
The issue which may be cause you problems is that you can't undock the panel on the windows version.
My Original Post:
"Just figuered out the bug at least on my system - if you undock the effects windows - that's what breaks the sliders on the color wheels - Just fyi."
Hopefully this helps you.
Take care

Jon-M-Spear Feb 28, 2011 11:19 AM (in response to Ripbud)I had similar issues in AE CS5 when the effects panel was undocked...

I thought that the .3 patch had resolved it in PP CS5
