I have not seen much discussion about the variations
in the automatic updater for Adobe CS as well as Adobe products lately. I have several computer labs that have Faroni
cs DeepFreeze installed.
As a result each
computer downloads the Adobe updates each day (or multiple times per day) without them being installed. Because some have CS
3, some have CS4, some have CS5, and all have Adobe Reader 9 or 10 I am not sure how to automatically update these computers during t
he Faronics DeepFreeze maintenance period. Do all versions use the same Adobe
updater? I gathered that they do not all use the same updater. Computers boot to the Windows login screen but no further. DeepFreeze allows me to call certain routines (batch files and MSI's) during this state so I am hoping that also allows me the option to install the updates. Has anyone else run into this and how did you solve it? We are using a Novell Zen 10 network operating system with edir so there is no Active Directory and no Microsoft network client.
Searches for autoupdating Adobe have not been real useful and must call for opening one of the Adobe apps and setting preferences to not update but that still seems to try to update next month or is user specific and we do not store profiles on the computer other than 2 local accounts.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Can anyone point me to information for using the autoupdater, w
hat the differences (and different locations) are for the various Adobe autoupdaters?
Thank you.
