Colin Brougham Mar 2, 2011 5:24 AM (in response to Studio North Films)Change the extension to MPG; they'll import just fine then (usually).
PS: Good to hear from you again, Baz

Harm Millaard Mar 2, 2011 5:25 AM (in response to Studio North Films)Baz,
Where have you been and what happened to you?
You should do a search: http://forums.adobe.com/search.jspa?q=MOD&resultTypes=MESSAGE&resultTypes=COMMUNITY&people Enabled=true&dateRange=all&communityID=3381&username=&numResults=15&rankBy=10001
You ought to know better than posing a question like this.
Impoting, issue, help are pretty meaningless without context.
Well, at least I know your hardware setup, so I won't bother you with that.

Can you see the extensions in Explorer? If not, in an Explorer window, go to Tools > Folder Options > View tab > Uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types."
You could also do this in a batch with my favorite file renaming utility, ReNamer.
