Bill Hunt Mar 4, 2011 11:02 AM (in response to Jon Geddes)Thank you Jon.
Do I recall correctly, that BluSteak might be available for the PC later on - or was that just "wishful thinking" on my part?
Appreciated,
Hunt

Jon Geddes Mar 4, 2011 1:48 PM (in response to Bill Hunt)Wishful thinking on both our parts... If there is ever a PC version made, it won't be for a very long time.

Giorgio1957 Mar 6, 2011 3:44 AM (in response to Bill Hunt)Hi, John
should BDedit be useful to remove unwanted pauses between menus (and/or loop points) in Blu-ray disks also?
if yes, I'm waiting for your new tutorials.
Thanks

Jon Geddes Mar 6, 2011 7:50 AM (in response to Giorgio1957)Yes, BDedit is used to remove the pauses at loop points and between menu transitions.
See, how Adobe Encore programs the Blu-ray disc, is that each menu transition and segment of the menu before the loop point has it's own "Playlist". Whats involved in fixing the problem is that you add the motion menu that follows the transition to the transition's playlist, then give the seamless connection condition value between the two.
So once modified, your original transition playlists will actually be playing through the menu one full time, then they will proceed to the original menu after completing that playlist. This unfortunately creates a little issue with the current selected button not being remembered once it reaches the end of the menu the first time around, as it originally didn't have to remember the button since it didn't have a menu in that transition playlist. Not too big of a problem though, as we discovered what appears to be the minimum amount of modifications to the navigation commands to make it function as it should.
It is a little more time consuming to do compared to the subtitle fix, as you have to add the menu clips to each of the transition playlists, then modify several navigation commands in each Movie Object for the transitions. Adding the menu clips to each of the transition playlists is not a simple click either, as you manually have to enter the type of video codec (MPEG2), audio type (Stereo), IG Stream ID, menu duration, etc.

Giorgio1957 Mar 6, 2011 9:48 AM (in response to Jon Geddes)Just discovered in your website, you are going to post a tutorial concerning this problem.
Many thanks.
I have tested some other authoring sws and noticed there are no pauses at all.
Anyway I say Encore is the first as consumer-pro softwares.
I'll stay tuned.
Ciao

Jim10A Mar 16, 2011 10:46 AM (in response to Jon Geddes)Has this been fixed? We have a possible job that needs a subtitled blu-ray disc. I did a test by making my own subtitles on subtitle track 1 and then set the default for the subtitles to be off. Everything worked perfectly fine in our blu-ray player. Should I be worried it won't work correctly in someone else's player.
