Bridge Cs3 making file sizes smaller than before???

      Hi

Been using Bridge for Cs3 for about a year and a half. I do bulk image processing for final photosets for websites. I have always used the 18mpx setting on my camera to generate highest resolution jpegs. Images start out between 5-7mb each.

When I was doing basic batch corrections before, ie, white balance, fill light, etc.. and then batch renaming final, it would be either the same or HIGHER resolution than what I started with as a final image. NOW it's less. A LOT less. Like finals are between 3-4mb each??? I did not change anything in bridge or my camera since last time I used it, and the setup for the photos are similar (we use a studio with only about 3 different set variations).

I have checked the settings in bridge (the blue link at bottom of the image while its open) and it's set to pixel depth 8 (16 would be nice but i am understanding thats for tiff only, right) at 17mpx = 3156x5184 at 240ppi.

I have not changed it. What could make the same images that used to final render at about 6-8mb now be.. 2.5-4mb?

CONFUSED! HELP! Its not that the images look any worse, I just want to avoid the inevitable question by the client of if the image was shot at 18mpx how it could end up so small.

      Thanks

      Heidi
