1. Re: Bridge Cs3 making file sizes smaller than before???
Curt Y Mar 5, 2011 11:15 AM (in response to HeidiHanson)I am assuming you are working with a RAW image. When you do the batch corrections are you converting into a different format? Perhaps the checkbox to convert to jpeg is checked?

HeidiHanson Mar 5, 2011 12:52 PM (in response to Curt Y)No, I am starting with highest resolution Jpeg and ending with the same (I thought).
I have checked and double checked everything and cannot figure out why this round is such a difference.

Curt Y Mar 5, 2011 4:34 PM (in response to HeidiHanson)What do you have the jpeg quality set to?
Jpeg is a lossy format, meaning each time you save it you loose quality as it recompresses. How much it changes depends on the image (some scenes compress more than others) and the compression quality.
If you save at the higher numbers you can acutallly end up with larger sizes.
If you want to keep max quality save in original raw format or in tiff. Once you have all done all the edits and have a final one can save to jpeg, as it is smaller.
