1. Re: InDesign form to web page
Stix Hart Mar 7, 2011 1:27 PM (in response to peterpica)It really depends on Freeway doesn't it? Perhaps if you posted a higher res jpeg they wouldn't convert it? If they convert absolutely everything to a 72ppi jpeg you're stuffed. You could also try a png rather than a jpeg.

2. Re: InDesign form to web page
peterpica Mar 7, 2011 1:38 PM (in response to Stix Hart)I'm bringing in (importing) a high-res InD-created PDF...I'd thought that I might be able to import some type of file format that would retain the vector qualities of the type outlines, etc. in my original form document.
I'll try your suggestion.
Thanks.

P Spier Mar 7, 2011 1:57 PM (in response to peterpica)You might also want to try rasterizing the PDF yourself

BobLevine Mar 7, 2011 2:16 PM (in response to peterpica)I don't get it...why not just create an HTML form and be done with it?

5. Re: InDesign form to web page
[scott] Mar 7, 2011 2:19 PM (in response to BobLevine)Because Freeway doesn't work that way.
I'd suggest not using Freeway, opening the HTML pages in a text editor and add your form that way.
Freeway, while fast and easy for the novice/intermediate, is really a poor tool for professional web design.

6. Re: InDesign form to web page
peterpica Mar 7, 2011 2:31 PM (in response to BobLevine)Thanks Bob... if I could, I would
I'd like to replicate the way the form appears in print as close possible, and using the PDF was the shortest route. There's also a link to the actual PDF file for anyone wishing to fill it out with the Reader typewriter utility. I wouldn't want to give up that functionality.

7. Re: InDesign form to web page
peterpica Mar 7, 2011 2:34 PM (in response to [scott])Granted that it doesn't have all the bells and whistles, it works for me. I tried some of the others (Dreamweaver, SiteGrinder) and keep coming back because of it's simplicity and ease of creating boilerplate sites.
The customers that I have and the websites I've done require functionality more than eye candy as well as cost effectiveness.

8. Re: InDesign form to web page
BobLevine Mar 7, 2011 2:51 PM (in response to peterpica)If you're css and html skills are pretty good, you can make that form look like just about anything you want.
I've gotten to the point where styling forms is about my favorite part of doing a web site.
