5. Re: Pasting into CMYK black channel
rob day Mar 10, 2011 5:38 AM (in response to Canned Pug)It is possible to skip the cutting and pasting routine and move the grayscale to the black channel in one step—on a conversion to CMYK.
Download this color profile and color settings file:
http://www.zenodesign.com/forum/GStoKsettings.zip
Put the profile (.icc) in your profiles folder, probably .../Library/Application Support/Adobe/Color/Profiles/
and put the color settings file (.csf) in your color settings folder .../Library/Application Support/Adobe/Color/Settings/
The settings file should show in your Color Settings, Settings pop-up. Covert your grayscale to CMYK via Image>Mode>CMYK and you'll get a CMYK file with the grayscale in the black channel and no CMY.
Just be careful not to use this setting for general color conversions.

Canned Pug Mar 10, 2011 7:39 AM (in response to rob day)You have such a good understanding if you can come up with this stuff. I only wish I could have some work other than this project as I really love ID/ PS.
