CFINSERT deprecated?

I am working on a cms admin in CF,
and wanting to use <cfinsert> fo insert all the available fields in a form, without needing to list them all out one by one.

However, someone told me I should be using CFQUERY with an insert action instead,
and that <cfinsert> is deprecated.
It sure seems like it would serve the purpose better than a cfquery... am I safe to use it?

cfinsert is not deprecated. I have never used it myself so I don't know if it's good or bad.

I do know that I have read a lot of posts that have said words to the effect of, "I just upgraded cold fusion and now none of my cfinserts work". I think it had something to do with a primary key.

Hmmm... thanks for the feedback, Dan.
Cfinsert sure seems to be working for me, in fact, using the all variables method (not specifying any fields and removing
unwanted fields like submit button, etc, from the list before running the cfinsert) is saving me tons of time already. Just
build the form and the database but not worrying about listing all the fields on each form for insertion... nice.
