PSE 8 / Mac / Adobe Downloader and Adjust Sharpening

    naturesbestside Community Member

How do I change 'preferences' for Adobe Downloader? Each time I have the Adobe Downloader window up, I place my cursor over Adobe Downloader and right click but the 'preference' in the drop down menu is grayed out.

In PSE 8 editor, every time I attempt to use, Enhance> Adjust Sharpening, I see the effect on the image while editing but when I click OK, the image 'reverts' back to the previously unsharpened image. How do I get this editing adjustment to take effect on the image?

      Thanx....

          What are you right-clicking, exactly?

For the sharpening problem, quit PSE, then relaunch while holding down command+shift+option. Keep holding the keys till you see a window asking if you want to delete the settings file. You do.

Barbara B.,Regarding the Adobe Downloader.... when physically placing the cursor over  'Adobe Downloader' at the top of the screen on the left side, a drop down box appears but the 'preferences' is grayed out. I thought I was needing to right click on mouse to bring the drop down menu but apparently I just needed to place the cursor over 'Adobe Downloader' at the top of screen on the left. In doing so, the drop down box appears. My question is how do I get into the Adobe Downloader to change my preferences?Secondly, I completed your requested actions and unfortunately, I continue to have the same problem. I can use Enhance>Unsharp Mask and it will complete the action but when I attempt to use Enhance>Adjust Sharpness and click OK, the picture shows the little Mac timer doing its thing and at the time it disappears the image 'reverts' back to the original, unsharpened image.Thanx so very much for your help !Jim....
