7. Re: Jagged edges
Canned Pug Mar 19, 2011 1:55 PM (in response to Canned Pug)I put in more canvas size, as the bounding box seemed to crop too close, but it still is jagged..must be something to do with the display view even though it opimal....but in a new pdf it looks smooth...but I can only zoom in so far and can't see it as closely as I would like, to be sure.

Canned Pug Mar 19, 2011 5:15 PM (in response to P Spier)Do you work for Adobe or just monitor and help? NOt to get personal, but you're always around and I don't know how Adobe forums work, etc or if there are actual life-forms.

Dov Isaacs Mar 19, 2011 5:28 PM (in response to Canned Pug)Peter Spier is not an employee of Adobe Systems Incorporated but is an end-user of InDesign who frequents these forums and assists other users. Although hosted by Adobe, these forums are not official outlets of Adobe Technical Support although some Adobe employees do participate occasionally, often on their own time.

15. Re: Jagged edges
P Spier Mar 20, 2011 6:24 AM (in response to Canned Pug)As Dov (who IS an employee and is also very helpful around here) said, I'm just a user. I do have a lot of real world experience in ID and a few other programs, and some time spent in print shops, the academic world, and newspaper and magazine production before striking out as a freelancer. After hanging out here for about eight years I was elevated to host status for the ID forums, and I probably take it a bit to seriously.

Canned Pug Mar 20, 2011 11:44 AM (in response to P Spier)Well I see you around and have never seen him and I think you are a wonderful part of the forums. I look to you for your thoughtful interactions. Too serious? Seems to me you really want to help people and do seem to have a lot of experience that others need and respond to without having attitude I've found in several forums. Maybe you should get a few farthings tossed your way...

17. Re: Jagged edges
P Spier Mar 20, 2011 12:41 PM (in response to Canned Pug)Well Dov is very busy most of the time doing his job as Principal Scientist for PDF (or something like that), so he only comes around once in a while. When he's here, though, he always gives straight and useful answers, and he's not unwilling to help a user who's had some previous problems with "Big Adobe" even if outside his nominal job description. I consider us very fortunate that he comes by as often as he does (and I don't mean to imply that he's the only helpful employee you'll find on the forums, just he in particular is more visible here than most who have an official Adobe connection).
I'm here becasue I think this is a valuable source of information (I've learned a lot of what I know right here) and I get to do some community service without leaving the comfort of my home. It helps that there are quite few users like yourself who seem to appreciate the effort.

afsdfasg Mar 20, 2011 2:32 PM (in response to Canned Pug)As you saw, the image frame was cutting into your drop shadow. I'd consider saving as PSD also.
Another option is to do the drop shadow in InD, which will also give you the option of blending it with the background. (multiplied background in PS becomes 'normal' transparency when brought into InD)
