    InMarket Publisher Profile==Adobe Account?

    Quentin T Community Member

      Hi,

      I'm trying to understand if InMarket publisher profiles are linked to Adobe accounts or not, because something strange just happened...

      I have an InMarket publisher profile that I only used to upload apps, until now. Today I noticed one of my apps got approved on the AIR Marketplace, searched for it but couldn't find it. And I saw a link (on the marketplace) saying "Manage offerings", so I clicked on it and was asked for my Adobe ID and password.

      I entered the credentials I use to enter InMarket's portal, and landed on a page asking for my screen name; so I entered my InMarket publisher profile screen name. I then got an error saying this screen name was not available, which I found very weird, but I entered another to see what would happen.

      Oddly enough I had to fill a profile form, which led me to think I was creating a new account. I filled the form, chose an e-mail address (Adobe ID) different from the one I use in InMarket and saved it. I was sure this account had nothing to do with my InMarket publisher profile so thought I had to delete it and/or forget it...

      But when I got back to InMarket to log in again, I simply couldn't: the usual credentials didn't work anymore!

      This is when I thought that maybe, somehow, some way, those two accounts where linked... I got back to the Adobe account edit form, changed the e-mail address (Adobe ID) to what I used to use in InMarket, saved it, and boom: could login again!

      Is this process normal?

      Am I all wrong/crazy?

      How come we can edit two profiles for only one login (e-mail/Adobe ID)?

      Any help would be appreciated!

          Currently when you upload your app to InMarket and distribute the app through AIR Marketplace, then you can update this app only through InMarket. The process to manage apps directly on AIR Marketplace does not allow you to manage apps submitted through InMarket. We are working on removing this confusion.

          Your publisher account on InMarket is linked to your Adobe ID. If you change your email associated with Adobe ID, you end up changing your Adobe ID - hence you cannot log in to the InMarket Portal when you update your email ID associated with a Adobe ID.

          Hope this helps. Let me know if you have more questions.

          Thanks

          Shikha

            Yes, that's clearer, thanks.

            As you said, this experience could be improved!
