In the case of this forum we are talking about form rendering using LiveCycle ES. That means merging data with a PDF (or an XDP) to generate a form with data in an automated process.
As far as being afraid of deleting the rendered PDF:
I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer..... ;-)
If you have the template and data you can always run your process again to generate a rendered PDF.
