Flash Builder always opens pointing to Administrator workspace

When I start Flash Builder, I always get the error message "Workspace in use or cannot be created, choose a different one." The Workspace Launcher always points to the directory "C:\Users\Administrator\Adobe Flash Builder 4". I point to the workspace I want and click the "Use this as default" option, but on the next start, it's back to the default Administrator directory. I have no other choices in the Workspace combobox If I start Flash Builder using Run As Administrator, I get the choices of workspaces.

How can I have the workspace choices when I run Flash Builder normally?

By the way, this is running on Windows 7 where I do have administrative rights.

Was Flash Builder installed by Administrator?

I'll get the installer guys onto this thread, but as a workaround, could you try start Flash Builder as user Admistrator, change your workspace (just like you did).

Now, restarting as yourself should do the trick.

I installed Flash Builder using Run as Administrator. I've changed the workspace when I start Flash Builder as Administrator and set that as default, but when I restart Flash Builder normally, it always gives me the error "Workspace in use or cannot be created, choose a different one." and points to the "C:\Users\Administrator\Adobe Flash Builder 4" directory.

Thanks for trying that out. I've forwarded this thread, so the installer guys should be able to shed some light on this.

Meanwhile, to unblock you, maybe you should install Flash Builder when logged in with your username.

From what I understand about this, the workspace data is stored in C:\users\your_username and since your_username is only accessible by administrator, you're running into this problem.

I have uninstalled Flash Builder and reinstalled it.The first few times I clicked on the installer, I got the message that I didn't have the privileges to run it (even though I have Local Administrative rights). Then I was able to install it without right clicking "Run as Administrator", but I am still getting the "Workspace Unavailable" error message and the default workspace points to "C:\Users\Administrator\Adobe Flash Builder 4"
