Druyan Byrne Mar 23, 2011 12:11 PM (in response to Curt Y)Thanks for the reply...
Sorry, I should have mentioned that... Yes, I do have the latest version of Quicktime installed (7.6.9), and all my files play properly in the Quicktime Player. All my .mov and other video files PLAY properly in all programs (including Bridge), and all other programs display a thumbnail for each video file--EXCEPT for Bridge.. it is the only one I am having a problem with. I also use Lightroom 3, and that creates thumbnails of .mov and other video files just fine.
I have tried changing the default file association for .mov files, but that didn't change anything.

Curt Y Mar 23, 2011 12:43 PM (in response to Druyan Byrne)my .mov files have a thumbnail. Either
load or download G Spot (free) and check what codec it requires, and
if it is installed on your computer.

4. Re: Bridge CS5 Does Not Show Thumbnails for .mov Files
mR miL0 Apr 5, 2011 10:44 PM (in response to Druyan Byrne)I have the same problem--also Win 7 64-bit. The problem seems to occur for .MOV files that have a rotation value--shot in portrait or landscape (but upside-down), by the iPhone, in my case.
In Windows Explorer, they have thumbnail images, but the images aren't rotated. When I play them w/Windows Media Player or VLC Player, the videos are not rotated either. Only QuickTime player shows them correctly w/rotation applied.
This suggests to me that Quicktime rotation may be too new for non-Apple applications to handle correctly. In Bridge's case, it's failing to extract any thumbnail at all.
