unable to create bookmark in DE

I am unable to select text to create a bookmark on text in a paragraph but can select and create a bookmark on headings. In another doc. As a test I downloaded Hunk Finn from the DE website and can do both actions. Any ideas why? is there a setting I can change or is one doc just locked down? (both are pdfs) .   Thanks Rob.

Rob, I think that each of those books was created with different settings on

at the time, or perhaps different feature sets/versions. ADE has some

issues with certain versions of PDF, and people have been commenting on that

for some time now.

As a follow up, I downloaded the same book in ePub format to prove your theory and everything works perfectly, bookmarks, notes etc., and even copy paste. Appreciate the help.
