I'm sure this subject has been discussed before, but the search didn't find anything with "slow.'
A colleague has a very large project that slows to a crawl when something like an image file is added.
We've talked about breaking it up into merged projects, but that would be difficult to do at this stage.
I've had this happen before, especially when a project is moved, and I've learned to let it run while I'm out, to catch itself up,.
Does anybody have any suggestions, other than deleting the ,cpd file?
Thanks for any help....

Why other than that? Because you have tried and it doesn't work or for some other reason?
Please define large.

Yes, my colleague has tried deleting the cpd file and it didn't help much.
The folder is 245 MB.

Where exactly is the large folder? Local PC or network?
Are there sub folders? Perhaps there are simply too many files inside a single folder if there aren't sub folders.
Cheers... Rick

Local PC. That's a good idea about the subfolders - most of them are in the main folder.
Thanks!

HI Marion,
If it is RH 8 and the .cpd size inside the Project Folder seems to be very large, You might have not installed RH 8 patch 8.0.2, Please ensure that you have installed RH 8.0.2 patch, If not then please install RH 8.0.2 patch and then delete the .cpd of the project and then open the project with this updated RoboHelp.
Hope this helps
Ashish

Thanks, Ashish. It's actually my colleague who has the problem. The file seems to be
behaving normally on my computer, so I'll pass your tip on to him. Thanks!
