Subscription Offer & Launch of CS 5.5

Adobe has announced the forthcoming launch of CS 5.5

But what may interest Elements users who can’t stretch to the full product prices - a new monthly subscription model for Creative Suite, installed on your computer.

Prices have not yet been revealed but are rumored to be around $35 per month with a discount for annual payment. Subscribers will get automatic updates to CS6 and subsequent product launches.

The prices are right there if you click the link and scroll down.  The monthly prices for Photoshop and Photoshop Extended seem to be about what taking the full retail price divided by 18 months.  If this subscription is meant as a stopgap until they release CS6 then this makes sense if you have not upgraded for several versions; however, if you have to continue the subscription to get CS6 then it is like buying Photoshop at full price every release.

Are yes the prices are out. Thanks. I see $35 only applies to InDesign and Photoshop.

I’m always grateful for the 30 day free trials but they seem to leave me disappointed because they aren’t really long enough for the complex CS products.

It might be worth blowing a couple of hundred bucks to get a good six months experience.
