Will upgrading my Nvidia card from a FX 5600 with 1.5gig RAM to the (Mercury playback engine supported) FX 5800 with 4gig RAM make a performance difference when openning a bin full of clips in thumbnail view? And the lag that happens when switching between programs and coming back to Premiere and having to sit for a minute until all the clips are re-read? My CPU and system RAM don't seem over utilized at all. Just wondering if the heftier card would get rid of the Premiere hiccups that happen with my large project files.
Not a problem per say, but as I get older, I'm more concerned about how I spend what time I have left!

Thumbnail rendering is not assisted by the hardware MPE engine. What determines the speed of thumbnail views is memory and disk setup.
