Problems with PS CS 5.5 and extensions and filters

    8bf

Removed PS Cs5 and installed Cs5.5. The extension manager CS 5.5 opened and to my pleasent surprise it started auto importing the extensions mxps i had when i deleted cs5 thinking great i won't have to reinstall them. Problem is the newly imported mxps on my list(which is many) The extensions show up on the list but when i start up PS CS 5.1 i don't see those extensions in my program, only listed on the extension manager. How can i get it so extension manager makes the files show up in the new cs 5.5 apps ie: like some ps cs5 panels thats detected in the manager but fails to show up in program. Is there a way to maybe flush out my system og the mxps and make them install to the new cs 5.5 dir

Also having problems with some plugins(but i assume that has to be fixed on the developer side) some plugins like topaz tools auto installs but when completed doesn't show up in PS.

understand the plugin one has to do with the installer not installing to the new cs5.5 dirs, more annoying is the panels thing

      any suggestions?

The extension manager will list the extensions, but they probably

need to be installed in the cs5 12.1 plugins\panels folder.

You should probably run the extension manager as an administrator

(right click on the extension manager shortcut and choose Run as

administrator) and then click on one of the extensions and you will

see something like install to the right of the extension.

            So whats the point then?

the cs5.5 extension manager makes a big show of telling me its converting panels etc and lists them but they don't show up under extensions for the listed programs????

Actually the extensions are still installed, you just have to enable them for cs5 12.1

(sorry about the slightly wrong info above) by checking the boxes under Enabled.

I guess it's done that way so you'll have a choice as to whether to enable the extensions or

              not with a new install.

This is very basic, and I apologize in advance if you're already aware, but be sure your 32 bit plug-ins are installed in 32 bit Photoshop, and 64 bit plug-ins are installed in 64 bit Photoshop.  They won't show up if mixed up.
