Creating PDF file from MS Word 2007

    on5lb Community Member

      Hello,

I prepared several documents using MS Word, including some images, but when i try to convert the files to PDF using Acrobat 8, i recieve a message saying:

This type opf file is not taking in charge or is dammaged.

To create an Adobe PDF document, open the application and print the document as a Adobe PDF...

      Is not working !

Any comment or advice to succeed please ?

      regards,

      Jean

How are you trying to create the PDF from WORD. There are multiple ways and the answers differ slightly. If you are using the save as option with the MS plug-in, it is a MS issue. If you are using PDF Maker (create PDF) or printing to the Adobe PDF printer, then start by trying to print to file, open the file in Distiller and hopefully create a PDF. If that is successful, then look for AcroTray to be running in the background -- it is required for the complete print process or PDF Maker on versions 8 and before.

            Hi Bill,

            Many thanks for your reply.

But trying your several advices, i don't succeed.

When i use Distiller, i recieve:

            Error: undifined; ofendingCommand: PK...

Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored

Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced

When i try to print from MS Word, looking for a printer, i recieve:

Active Directory not for disposal (i translate from French !..)

I have no problems using InDesing CS4 to convert as a PDF format, should i copy to Indesign ?

            Regards,

            Jean
