I have successfully downloaded many epub books but now I get message box "Resume pending tasks...one or more tasks were running when ADE was abnormaly terminated. Do you wish to resume pending tasks? Choice boxea are "cancel" or "ok". Clicking on either brings up message.."Error getting license..Server communication problem" I have tried this with at least two different library ebook systems with the same result.
ADE will not let me open the downloaded epub book. I have uninstalled ADE, rebooted and reinstalled ADE with the same results. At a loss as to how to proceed. Any help?
Delete the tasks folder in your (My) Digital Editions folder.

This isn't an ADE problem per se. There's something wrong and ADE is unable
to proceed normally with the download. If I understand the message
correctly and in context, ADE is terminating abnormally because it can't get
the ebook license information from the server where the ebook is located.
It's waited and waited and will time out, just like other applications
would. I'd contact the library and let them know that there's a problem you
discovered when you tried to download this ebook.

There are only two items in the ADE folder: ADE and the uninstall program.

Not the ADE program folder, but your My Digital Editions folder which is in your My Documents Folder.

Thank you for clearing that up. I'm happy to say you were correct in your solution. The program is now working fine. Much appreciated!

Hi,
In order to fix this please do following.
1) Go to following folder : C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\My Documents\My Digital Editions\Restore.(For Win XP)
C:\Users\UserName\Documents\My Digital Editions\Restore.(For Win Vista or 7)
MAC HD:\UserUserName\Documents\Digital Editions\Restore.(For MAC)
2) Delete all the folders under this folder.
3) Now open Digital Editions and it should not return any error message
I hope this will help you!!!

Rizwan
