Modifying Fields

I have a form that has an expandable text option whereas the field expands as the user enters more text.  The text always seems to start in the middle of the field rather than at the top left of the field.  Is there a way to change this so that the text entered starts at the top left of the field?

You can change the alignment in the Font palette.Make sure that you choose Value only (click the button indicated in the blue circle below) then

you can use the alignment tool circled in red.
