moving books to ipod

How do I move a library book from a macbook to an ipod.  My macbook keeps telling me that my ipod cannot play the file, but I know it can because if I download it directly from the library to the ipod I don't have a problem.  I cannot download it directly to my ipod as my library only lets me download it once.

Help!

iPods are not supported by ADE. There are several messages posted to the

Forum that discuss other ebook management software that you can use.

Bluefire comes to mind, but I really don't keep track of the MAC world.
