error e_adept_resource_does_not_exist

I have downloaded ADE and it appears to be opening and working ( no books to try) but when i try to download purchased book i get an error

e0000000-0000-0000-0000-000000546429"

I have tried uninstalling and re-installing many times, and downloaded latest adobe reader & flash

using windows vista
