Expanded text on RH X5

Hello again,

Is the expanded text created by dragging and dropping a glossary term to topic content the same as if you had used the "Create Expanding Hotspot and Text" function in the DHTML menu?  My project has a few hotspots that were added by dragging and dropping a glossary term into the topic.  But when the glossary term was subsequently removed, the expanding text remains in the topic.  I had always assumed that creating expanding text by drag and drop from the glossary was different than using the DHTML function, but maybe not.  Can anyone confirm that for me?  I'm actually hoping my assumption was wrong - otherwise I'd have to figure out why the expanding text to a glossary term remains even though the glossary term has been removed.

Thanks for any help.

Diane

Hi Diane

I suppose it could vary by version, so I just fired up X5 and tested to be certain. The hotspots use the same function ( javascript:kadovTextPopup(this) ) but the difference is in the class assigned to be used for CSS.

Menu added expands use this class: class=expandspot
Glossary expands use this class: class=glossterm

Hopefully this helps... Rick
