Anyone know where I can find a good uploading / wait window to use while
uploading files using cffile? I would like something to display while the
page is attempting to upload the files to let the user know something is
going on.

Thanks

Hi Wally,

Peter Coppinger has released a very powerful widget on CFTagStore.com which can be viewed here

A demo page showing the widget can be viewed here

Hope this helps,

Found that widget to be amazing, but can't get it to work on my site. I
followed the 3 step instructions, but can see the widget at all. Even tried
to copy one of their sample pages and it doesn't work in there either.

Also, how do you use it in conjunction with an INSERT to capture the
uploaded file information in the database?

I am guessing it may be that you are running ColdFusion on Linux. The demo download is not compatible at the moment but will be updated shortly to work on Linux. Glad you liked it 🙂

I am running CF MX 7 on Windows, both on the web server and my local laptop.

Try using one of the examples found at Asfusion. It will be so much easier than a widget

Build yourself an animated gif image that conotes the passage of time. Moving hands on a clock, something like that. Then your file upload page would simply have "Please Wait", followed by the gif, followed by <CFFLUSH>, followed by the start of your upload.

I think you have completely missed the point and technical aspects of both CF_ProFlashUpload AND ASFusions method. They are both flash widgets....
