1. Re: How to Add 50% opacity rectangle
Prismatus Jun 23, 2011 2:39 PM (in response to Bucketheadd)While you're editing the menu in photoshop, you should be able to insert a box that doesn't act as an asset with transparency by:
- Make a new layer for the box.
- Use the rectangular marquee tool to make the selection on where you want the box to be.
- Fill the box with the color you want.
- Use the opacity slider on the layers window to control how opaque you want the box.

Bill Hunt Jun 23, 2011 4:05 PM (in response to Bucketheadd)Buckethead,
I think that Prismatus has nailed your need.
Only little caveat would be to make sure that your New Layer is not in any of the Button Layer Sets. I usually do a non-Button Layer Set for my Graphics & Text elements, that are not Buttons. Just wanted to point the "location" of that New Layer out. Prismatus got everything right, or about how I'd do it, but one needs to make sure that the New Layer is not grouped with any Button.
Good luck,
Hunt
