James Newton, ACP Jan 13, 2010 4:54 AM (in response to fansoftmedia)Here's a demo of a draft version of a customisable popup menu:
go to movie "http://nonlinear.openspark.com/tips/other/EditableMenu.dir"
You might also like to look at Luke Wigley's One Sprite Widgets, which you can find here: http://www.lingoworkshop.com/Codelib/index.php and Gary Smiths Buddy Menu: http://www.mods.com.au/xtras/default.htm

fansoftmedia Jun 7, 2011 5:43 PM (in response to James Newton, ACP)Revisiting this one...
So I ended up using the One Sprite Widget http://www.lingoworkshop.com/Codelib/index.php -- specifically the drop own menu part.
The problem is it doesn't work very stable on all Windows machines.
Sometimes it works, sometimes the drop downs don't respond.
Has ANYONE else run into this issue? and/or have a fix?
Or does anyone have any good "drop down menu" replacements.
It's so hard to believe that Director doesn't come with a semi-usable one.

Mister MUX Jun 22, 2011 7:36 PM (in response to fazstp)I also recommend Buddy Menu. It is not a standard drop down box, but I have found it to be very reliable. Just make a text member (non-editable), attach an 'on mouseUp' script that that pops up the menu and then populate the text box with the users selection.
