    Highlights slightly missing after transcode

      Here's the deal:

After my boss transcodes to DVD, the highlights on all my menus are incomplete.

The "D" on Dust is not fully highlighted.

Is this a PAR problem? Maybe a disk speed problem?

I made all the photoshop files 1280x720 (1.0) and then imported them into Encore which set them to 720x480 and I switched the aspect ratio to (16:9). There's only 2 options in Encore it looks like 4:3 and 16:9 for aspect ratio

I didn't have problems with an earlier version where the menus were created in Encore and they were set to a default 720x480. I cannot use this older project version. Perhaps I should make my PS files 720x480 (1.0)??

This problem seem to happen on parts of vertical letters; I, P, even C and as you can see from the picture, parts of the D. Even though, the menu preview looks all good.

I guess this isn't too big of a deal (just looks a little sloppy) but has anyone ever seen this?

      Thanks

This is a problem of cropping highlights in certain parts of the screen that most often happens when the menu pixel size is wrong, and also if the par is wrong.

DVD is very limited; you get 4:3 or 16:9.

Yes, 720x480 it is, but not par=1. Set the par based on whether it will be 4:3 or 16:9.

Just open the blank menu from Encore templates, or any other template menu that is wide screen, and edit in photoshop. The size and par will be correct.
