    r6025 error when inporting sequences.

      Hello All,

I was wondering if someone has insight as to what could be causing a "r6025 - pure vital function call" error. I have been having this problem on

and off for a while now. I see alot of others have had/are having this error and I have already searched through the forums and tried finding a

      solution before posting here.

I have not seen any specifc references to the error in relation to my workflow when I receive it.

Before moving forward, here are my system specs.

      Ok, here's what happening:

The only time I receive the above mentioned error is when I have a project open and I choose to import selceted sequences from another PP project

file. If I choose to import a single sequence it pulls everything in fine, if however I choose multiple sequences I receive the error.

The weird thing is that it is not a consistent error. For example, if I have a relativelty small project with just a handful of clips and

sequences I notice that I am able to import multiple sequences from another PP project without issue. If I have a larger project with many

sequences and assets, say maybe 50 sequences, 70-100 footage files, etc., and I proceed to import more than one sequence from another PP project I

      receive the error.

I was originally thinking maybe PP is just choking as it is only accessing 4GB ram? Maybe the processor is not beefy enough? I don't think it is a

software conflict as I only have some piriform products such a CCleaner, etc and Globalscape's CuteFTP installed. I use my system strictly for

media creation like mostly everone here and do not and download the typical junk you see on most "home" systems.

If there is a quick fix great, if not it's ok I will continue to deal with it but then my main question would be when I upgrade to 5.5 and Win 7

Pro do you think this issue might be resolved ?

Thank you in advance to anyone who may have any insight into this issue,
      Shane

My first guess was also a memory issue.

If that is the source of this issue, then upgrading to 5.5 and working with 12GB, 16GB or more of RAM may well solve it.

            Jim,

Thanks for the response. I downloaded the PP 5.5 trial and all I can say is WOW! The problem I was inquiring has been resolved. I can't believe the performance difference. As you can see by my specs above my pc is adequate but by no means stellar. Not only was I able to open the large project files and import multiple sequences, but I tried to get PP to choke and couldn't.

The start up time difference on my system is amazing as well. As good as CS4 is/was, 5.5 makes it look stupid.

I do have one question which I think I kno wthe answer to but just want to double check.

When I downloaded the PP 5.5 trial I installed it that started opening up some CS4 project files. When it was converting them, some of the project files based on the filter I used received the following message:

            "Video Filter missing:  AE.SA ColorCorrect"

I figured this was because I didn't install AE 5.5. I downloaded the trial and still the same thing. I am assuming because this is a filter not included with the trial of AE. When I purchase MC 5.5 next month and do a clean install (wiing drive and installing Win 7 Pro) would I be correct in assuming this should be resolved? If not is this an old filter that has been updatd by a newer one?
