I read an earlier post about this, but I have Windows Vista.  F8 is not bringing up the TOOLS bar.  I see the COMMENT bar and the SHARE bar, but no TOOLS bar.  Please help.

Reader's Tools Pane only displays if the PDF has extended rights - without those rights none of the items in the Tools Pane are active, so there's no point showing it.

So are you saying that if someone creates a .pdf with Extended Rights, the TOOLS pane will automatically appear?

Or if you have created your own scripts and added them to the Tools toolbar. In that case it will appear whenever you open a PDF.

Yes, a Reader-extended PDF will automatically trigger the display of the Tools Pane in Reader X (or in Acrobat X when running Protected View in a browser). Aside from adding a plugin or scripted button to the Tools Pane, there is no way to make it display for non-extended PDF files - all references to the Tools Pane are removed from menus and toolbars when it's not being displayed.

Can you please explain what a Reader-extended PDF is or how to make one? Until now I had the Reader 9 and in all files I could see the Tools pane next to the Fill & Sign and the Comment panes. Since the update to Reader X the Tools pane is missing in all documents. Thank you!
