Working in Adobe Flash CS5
When I play my animation in the Flash working file, the animation stops at the end of the timeline, as it should. But when I test the movie, or export it to any movie format, it will play an instance of a movie clip symbol that I used within the animation. There are no extra frames in the timeline beyond what should be considered the last frame. Is there a setting or something I have overlooked that might cause that instance of the symbol to play at the end of the animation, without appearing in the main timeline? Can this be fixed?
your movieclip (or one of its parents) that plays is on the main timeline or is loaded by your swf. if you don't load that movieclip (published as a swf), you can be sure your movieclip (or one of its parents) is the culprit.
use movie explorer to search for all instances of your movieclip by using the library name for that movieclip. if that doesn't reveal the culprit, you've either made an error in your search or you have a duplicate movieclip.
Thanks! It turned out there was a second scene that I must have accidentally created at some point - that's where that final instance was, which explains why I couldn't see it on my Scene 1 timeline.
