1. Re: Mac project file showing "Invalid Project" on PC
Stan Jones Jul 20, 2011 9:23 AM (in response to davidbeisner2010)One possibility, from Ramesh on another thread, is Quicktime installed on the PC?
The other thing I would think of would be codecs, but none of those should prevent the project opening.

2. Re: Mac project file showing "Invalid Project" on PC
davidbeisner2010 Jul 20, 2011 11:42 AM (in response to Stan Jones)Thanks, Stan...
I never could get the project file to open, so I tried importing the media
files (exported as bluray files from PrPro on the mac) into Encore to begin
fresh, and it always killed Encore. I then tried importing them to PrPro to
see if I could DL to Encore, and it killed PrPro as well. So finally I ran
them through G-Spot and found that one of the two m4v files was in AVC/h.264
and the other had no associable codecs. The one without associable codecs
simply wouldn't open, and the one in AVC/h.264 would go half-way and then
kill the programs. Neither would play in any media player, including VLC.
So I've got the guy who created the files going back to his PrPro project on
the Mac and he's supposed to try and render them out in Avid DNxHD (which
I've been told is a good cross-platform codec) and if he can't get that to
work (the Mac's he's on are under IT lockdown and he may not be able to
install the Avid codec pack) then to render them out as 8-bit uncompressed
QuickTime. Either set of files, I can pull into PrPro and then do DL to
Encore and rebuild the menu system using the PSD files he sent me.
