1. Re: Change signature color
c.pfaffenbichler Jul 20, 2011 10:48 PM (in response to Jack)Instead of copy/pasting you could use the Selection to create a Solid Color Layer and drag that over.
That layer’s color can be edited later on.
And if the signature is black instead of Color Range I would recommend loading the luminance by command-clicking the composite channel in the Channels Panel.

2. Re: Change signature color
Jack Jul 21, 2011 11:51 AM (in response to c.pfaffenbichler)OK, thanks, that worked well. Used Layer | Style | Color Overlay to set the color of my signature, after dragging it into my image. Now would like to tone down the color. I can clear the style but cannot select a new color; the Color Overlay option is disabled (grayed out). Is there a way to tweak the color of the existing layer without starting over? Granted, starting over is not the end of the world, but would prefer not to, if possible.

Jack Jul 21, 2011 12:45 PM (in response to Jack)Nevermind, it really is trivial to redo the procedure.

Say what?
Layer Styles should be able to be edited from the Layers Panel by double-clicking their respective names in the Layers list.

5. Re: Change signature color
Jack Jul 23, 2011 8:52 AM (in response to c.pfaffenbichler)Tried to send the following via email but it generated an error, "address unknown".
Sorry, yes, forgot that the double-click always serves to direct attention to the layer. Actually, double-clicked the layer itself; there was no list of names.
All is working fine now. Thanks,
