Excel and Robohelp 8

I assume one can't import an Excel file into RH8. Is this correct? If one needed to, would you import it as an HTML file?

Hi there

Certainly you could try saving the Excel file as HTML and importing that result into RoboHelp, but because of other odd things with Microsoft Office produced HTML pages, I'm not sure what experience you may have. It could be acceptable or it might be awful. Only trial and error will reveal if it's a viable approach.

Another approach would be to add the Excel file to Baggage and provide a link to the Baggage file from a RoboHelp topic or the TOC.

Hi Rick,

as far as using the baggage files, I'm using HTML Help, not Web Help or Flash Help. I thought you could use baggage files with the latter two.

Baggage files work with CHM output too. Not sure how you managed to get the impression that they are unique to web based outputs. The use of Baggage files actually pre-dates Web based outputs by a few years.
