Problem Playing Captivate Movies in Adobe Presenter

I created a short demo in Captivate and saved as a SWF.  It imported fine into PPT with Adobe Presenter plug in - but after publishing the player just races right over the demo and it doesn't 'play'.  Is there a particular format that Captivate movies need to be saved in order to work in Presenter?

Hi,

If you are using Adobe Presenter 7, then please enable the option "manage SWF files using Presenter playbar". Only then will the Presenter identify the Captivate swf timings and will play accordingly.

This option is not present in Adobe Presenter 6.

Regards,

Mukul

Hello,

Which version of CP do you use? CP5 is Actionscript 3 only, and Adobe Presenter 7 is not updated for AS3 yet.

When does Adobe expect to have this bug fixed?  It is really disappointing that I bought the Acrobat X suite and that Captivate CS5 that comes with the suite is not compatible with Presenter 7.0.6.

Captivate is not a component of the Creative Suite version 5. As far as I know it's only part of two suites.

  • eLearning Suite
  • Technical Communication Suite

Sorry Rick, to disagree, the new Acrobat X suite has Captivate 5 on board as does the eLS and Techcomm suite.

I agree that it is very annoying that Presenter is not upgraded to AS3 yet, was used to combine Presenter with Captivate movies too.

My bad! I was totally unware of the Acrobat X suite! Seems odd. I hate all the suites with their confusing "this only works in the suite version" functions.

Cheers... Rick
