1. Re: Creating Scrolling text panels in Indesign CS5 for Interactive SWF's
Petteri_Paananen Aug 4, 2011 1:23 AM (in response to Macnimation)That´s not possible by using only indesign.... but if you have Flash Professional, you can create a scrolling content there, export it as SWF and place to indesign... see the sample: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/17227987/ScrollerTest/index.html
Go to page 2....

Macnimation Aug 5, 2011 3:36 AM (in response to Petteri_Paananen)Hi,
Thanks for the updated information.
I created a scrooling text box in Flash CS5 and created the swf, that works fine.
Importing into Indesign CS5 isnt as straight forward as I expected?
I get the SWF icon on the Indesign Page, but previewing or publishing only shows the SWF icon, no Scrolling Text box displays.
Im ust add that if I click on the SWF icon the Text box displays, but I want it to display by default?
Are there more steps I need to take?

xoxpurple090 Aug 10, 2011 7:54 AM (in response to Petteri_Paananen)Hi
I created my text panels in flash catalyst and imported them into the indesign document. When I export the whole document the panels work on my computer - however when I move the file to another computer or on a disk they do not work. Can you help me solve this problem?

Petteri_Paananen Aug 10, 2011 10:22 AM (in response to xoxpurple090)If you have placed any media files (FLV, SWF, audio) to your layout, indesign does not embedd your media files to SWF you export. It creates a resources folder instead and stores those places files there for runtime loading.
If you want to move SWF you exported from indesign, make sure that you move also resources folder, it must always be in same root with SWF.....
