I am trying to activate my kobo, and I can't get ADE to do anything. I plug in my KOBO, launch ADE, and nothing happens. I read that ADE is supposed to recognize it automatically, but it doesn't. Absolutely nothing happens. How do I get it to recognize it?

Thank you,

You have to activate the KOBO reader on the KOBO website with your Adobe ID

and password before ADE will recognize it. Once it's activated, then make

sure that Windows (an assumption on my part) sees it as an external disk

drive. Then, start ADE, and you should see the KOBO reader appear in the

left hand panel of the Library screen (the bookshelves) when ADE starts up.

Hope this helps!

I don't mean to be patronizing, but the instructions to activate the

ereader 'should' be in the box with it. If you don't have instructions or

some form of User Guide, you could go online and try to contact Kobo's

Customer Service or Help functions.... When you do the activation, you

should get updated software if there is any, because the Kobo website will

be interfacing with your ereader. It will put a small file on the ereader

that contains information that ADE will use to authorize it so you can do

the ebook transfers.

Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Thank you very much for your help. You did inspire me to try something. I

did a factory reset on my KOBO,and then it worked perfectly!

You're welcome. I'll have to remember the 'reset button' for the next

time....
