2. Re: Output doesn't match source
sebrame Aug 17, 2011 8:17 PM (in response to Colin Brougham)Well, at first I was kicking myself for such a newbie oversight, but then I created the Square PAR sequence, copied over the assets, had to re-scale the footage (which is 1280x720) to frame it the way I want it, and on export I get this in AME...
BTW, the Source Panel looks identical, however, over in Premiere everything looks good.

Colin Brougham Aug 17, 2011 8:33 PM (in response to sebrame)Try it with a fresh sequence and single clip added to that sequence. Are you using the Motion > Scale effect or Scale to Frame Size? Any particular reason you're not editing in a 1280x720 sequence, and then exporting to 640x360?

4. Re: Output doesn't match source
sebrame Aug 18, 2011 6:22 AM (in response to Colin Brougham)Yes, I have scaled the image, and I realize that's the problem, sort of. 'Sort of', because there shouldn't be a problem. Seems to be a bug. My final export will be 640 x 360. I am using a sequence of this size because I can cut the footage up and scale different cuts of it, giving an appearance of a two-shot cutting to a medium shot of the speaker, and back. Scaling a 720 clip up in a 720 sequence causes resolution loss, while scaling a 720 clip in a 640 x 360 sequence doesn't, as long as you don't go too far past 100%.

Loqutisofborg Sep 2, 2011 7:18 AM (in response to sebrame)Did you ever get an anser?
----------
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
I'm trying to convert a 7GB, 1080 HD Quicktime file into a H.264 file through Adobe Media EncoderHowever, every time I do I seem to screw up the settings and export a out a large letterbox video....not goodHere is a video to show you what I'm doing in my setting window -
6. Re: Output doesn't match source
sebrame Sep 2, 2011 7:24 AM (in response to Loqutisofborg)Never found a solution. I'm convinced that it's a bug. My only workaround was to export an AVI matching sequence settings, then perfom my final encode in Squeeze.

7. Re: Output doesn't match source
Loqutisofborg Sep 2, 2011 9:05 AM (in response to sebrame)Instead of using Media Encoder I went ahead and exported the H264 file through After Effects render Que using the settings in my video. Worked fine. I think you may be on to something with the Bug issue

8. Re: Output doesn't match source
Mark Mapes Sep 2, 2011 9:53 AM (in response to Loqutisofborg)Please post the following so that we can attempt to reproduce internally.
- the PPRO project (we shouldn't need the actual content; we can substitute assets with the same properties)
- the export settings. If you're using a "factory preset," then just the name of the format and the preset will suffice. If you've customized the settings at all, please save a custom preset (through the Export Settings dialog) and attach it here.
Thanks,
Mark
